Amazon Clinic, launched in November 2022, connects users with telemedicine partners, allowing easy access to healthcare providers without needing insurance or appointments. Customers can compare response times and prices from multiple telehealth provider groups, complete an intake form, and connect with their chosen provider.
The virtual clinic covers many health conditions, including sinus infections, acne, COVID-19, acid reflux, motion sickness, seasonal allergies, sexual health issues, etc. The platform even offers birth control and emergency contraception, expanding its scope to cater to various health needs.
While the clinic initially focused on text message-based consultations, it is now adding video telemedicine visits in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. This expansion aims to offer customers a convenient and efficient way to receive medical advice and treatment for minor health issues.
Amazon's foray into the healthcare industry includes the launch of Amazon Pharmacy following the acquisition of PillPack and the closure of a telehealth service called Amazon Care. The company's efforts to make healthcare more accessible continue with expanding its virtual clinic nationwide.
